Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
CheckPublicIP.com ("we", "us") operates the website at checkpublicip.com. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the site.
Information we process
When you visit the site, your browser sends standard technical information with every request: your IP address, user-agent string (browser and operating system), and request headers. We use this information solely to display it back to you — that is the purpose of the service. We do not store your IP address or browsing activity on our servers.
Hosting and content delivery
The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes requests to deliver the site and may collect operational logs (such as request counts and error rates) as described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Approximate location data (city, region, country) shown on the page is derived by Cloudflare from your IP address at request time.
Maps
Location maps are rendered with the Leaflet library, loaded from the unpkg.com content delivery network, using map tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap. When a map loads, your browser requests the library from unpkg.com and tile images from the tile providers; those services receive your IP address as part of the normal request, as any web resource does.
Connection test tools
The IPv4/IPv6 checks on this site query the ipify service (api.ipify.org) from your browser to detect your addresses. The WebRTC leak test communicates with a public STUN server (operated by Google) from your browser. The reverse DNS tool queries Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS service (cloudflare-dns.com) from your browser.
IP lookup tool
When you use the IP lookup, ASN lookup, or VPN test tools, the IP address being looked up is sent to our server, which retrieves public information about it from a third-party geolocation database (ipwho.is) and caches the result. We do not log which visitor looked up which address. Do not enter information you consider sensitive.
Advertising
We plan to display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Once ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and consent will be requested where required by law. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Third-party vendors' use of advertising cookies enables them to serve ads based on your visits to this site and others on the internet.
Cookies
The site itself does not set cookies. Advertising partners (Google AdSense) may set cookies as described above.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we do not store personal data ourselves, such requests typically concern our service providers (Cloudflare, Google). For questions, contact us at contact@checkpublicip.com.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
